TF24003: The query or query folder name you entered contains characters that are not supported. Correct the name and try again.

description

Hi.

Thank you for Search Work Items Visual Studio extension. I use it a lot! :)

I can't seem to search with the '\' character. When I try, I get the following error message:

Microsoft Visual Studio

TF24003: The query or query folder name you entered contains characters that are not supported. Correct the name and try again.

OK

The work around is to replace the '\' with a space, ' '.
So for example, if I want to search for "test\support" explicitly, I have to search for "test support" instead, but this will return a broader set of search results with a query similar to "test OR support".

I am not sure what the best resolution would be, maybe warn the user and ask if the search query should automatically replace '\' with a space, ' '.

Thank you.

Also, trying to use the colon character (':') in the search query produces the same error.
